Chicory Rossa di Treviso - Organic

This is a distinctive chicory with elongated heads of dark red leaves with a thick white midrib. Faintly bitter but generally sweeter than the round radicchios, these are delicious added raw to a salad or to cook. Try it sliced into long thin strips and sautéed with butter, garlic and sage. Like all chicory they pair well with something fatty such as cheese or toasted nuts.
